New Camera :)

Okay folks, ready for a good chuckle? I bought a new camera and I have taken pictures for years, but I really like p/s. So my new camera is a KODAK Z1015 IS. Nothing difficult, I don't have to focus, that's the hardest part for me. I really like it, had a Kodak DX6490 and it was good for a while, but it only has 4MP. The pictures looked grainy when I would try to enlarge them, etc.
But there are lots of goodies with this one and I think it's a keeper.
I had a request, it had to have a good macro lens, and I can get up to 1 1/2 to 2 inches away from my subjects, which are usually floral or butterflies. The zoom is 15 optical and 10 mp.
I have read alot about what you folks like and I know Nikon is a favorite here, but the Nikon D60 is 6MP, and I can't afford a expensive one and go higher than that. So have a good chuckle, I don't mind.

But as soon as I can post some pictures, I will.

Wow, how do you make the butterflies sit still when you're only 2 inches away with a camera? :)

Enjoy your new toy, dont worry about what brand it is as long as it does what you need.

Thanks. I need simple ones. I'm trying to understand the numbers in lenses and stops etc. So much to learn, but I'm up for it. Well maybe I should of clairfied that I zoom on butterflies, but the flowers will be really nice with the macro.

Hey Darlin!!!! Come on over!!!!!

Just saw a pair of Indigo Buntings in the front yard, wow are they bashful...:(

So I guess that means you didn't get a pic!!!!

:)

Yeah I've never seen bird macro shots. That is the realm of telephoto. Unfortunately you can't have a nice microscope AND a nice telescope if you can't change lenses. Having the right equipment or not means getting the shot you want or not.

...Jesse you took that butterfly picture?! I don't remember seeing it before but that is one I wouldn't soon forget.

...Jesse you took that butterfly picture?

Yea, I don't remember if I put it on here, but it's on another site. It was earlier this year. Thanks!!!!

Hey Jesse, what kind of a lens did you use for the butterflies?
I think it's so amazing that you were able to get 3 at one time
and they all look brand new, no pieces missing, ya know? Sooooo
cool Jan

55-200mm nikon vr was the lens. I took the pic on May 3rd so it was pretty early in the season, hence their good shape. It was on a dirt path at Deer Lakes Park and it had just rained. Most butterflies like it in the mud.

Okay, so here's the update. The Kodak Z1015 IS, I really like it. I've had it for about 2 weeks and there are some things I need to get use to, but the pictures are looking good. The last camera is a DX6490 (Kodak) they work similar but the new one has lots of extras and I am just learning what buttons to push. I'll post some pictures as soon as someone here shows me how to do it.
