New chiller not working

Hey guys, long time customer here. A few months ago I ordered a Pacific Coast 1/2 HP chiller from you guys. I just hooked it up today and got it running and it's toast. I plumbed it and got water running through it. As soon as it kicked on it was very loud and rattling... much more than normal. My garage got a burnt smell, and it shut off. I unplugged and turned it back on and the same thing happened after it ran for a few minutes in which it wasn't chilling.

Anyway, I've had this problem with a chiller before, and you guys dealt with it fine. You sent me out a replacement which you charged me for, and upon receiving the bad one back credited my card. I need that done again and another one sent out Monday as I'm receiving some angels this week that require cooler temperatures in this system.

Anyway, I'm well versed in chillers and this one has a definite issue right out of the box. Thanks in advance and let me know what to do.

Thanks,

John

You'll know soon enough...:D I don't like to jinx myself until they settle in... you'll see though... very cool... :)

I had the same issue with the rattling when I got mine in from PA. As instructed, i took the cover off and sure enough the fan was hitting a copper line. I bent the copper line just enough and everything was working fine. Make sure you have enough flow through that chiller or it will shut off/on constantly. Mine has been working very good now for months.

Thanks bud... sure enough that's what it was. I got in touch with the tech at Pacific Coast and he instructed me to check this out. The chiller runs great, chilling ~400 gallons with no issues, and oh how important customer service is in this industry. I called Premium Aquatics and spoke to a person right away... called Pacific Coast and spoke to a tech right away... being a computer systems engineer it's nice to see companies with PEOPLE on the other end of the line who actually know the equipment...

Another issue I had was a broken bulb in shipment... Premium Aquatics handled this in about 20 seconds and is getting me a replacement.

After an incident with a major vendor on RC here, I've switched to ordering from you guys 100%. This vendor did not want to replace a $50 new part that I got bad, and when I brought it up in their forum my questions went unanswered for days, and finally after a week and way too much of my time they gave in... that stubbornness cost them thousands of my future dollars... that you guys now get! :)

Thanks again PA,
