New Chinese 65w led light mount

First post here. I set this 75 gal up about 3 or so months ago. I had an aquatic life t5 installed and was happy with performance but really liked the shimmer effect led seam to have as well as the controllability. I wasn't ready to spend upwards of $1,000 on some of the lights out there so I picked up 2 of the generic Chinese 65w led fixtures with wifi on ebay. The biggest downfall (for me) with these lights is that they do not come with a means of mounting them. Suspending from the ceiling for me via cables wasn't appealing to me. So I set off to make my own mounts. Pretty happy with the way they turned out. Still need some finishing touches as well as to be sprayed or annodized. I'll probably do it over xmas. Probably one of the most overbuilt light fixtures ever. lol

Lol yeah it's handy. That one is in my garage. Another in my basement. Don't ask how much fen either where to install

I could imagine. I had an old bridgeport j and a clausing 12X36 lathe in my basement a few years back. I still regret selling them to this day.

Yeah I also have a lathe in basement. I am hoping to move into the country soon but I'm dreading the move because of all the heavy equipment and rigging companies required to move it will cost an arm and leg to get moved.

Wow. You could make a lot of money selling those! I'd buy a set in a heartbeat. Finding a mount like this is the only reason I don't have the 300w marsaqua for my 40b...

Do you have the plans handy? I could have my buddy make a set for me!

I agree. I'm actually thinking about applying a cera Kote finish to them. It's a ceramic based enamel mostly used on firearms. It will seal the aluminum much better than traditional anodizing

Hmm I've never heard of that stuff. I'll have to check it out. We do a lot of machining for the Nortech dealer (offshore boat manufacturer) and the salt water does a number on part that are even anodized. We anodize more for the looks then the protection anyways.

Anodizing does little to no good for salt water. Even fresh waster will tear it up. I have to repaint my boat out drive every spring and I'm just in the great lakes

I am a cerakote applicator its a great chose if you lived near me would do them for you.
