New clam

Started a little over a year ago. Learned a lot since then. Tackled the beginning, tackled LPS/softies, recently tackled SPS , and tackled the anemone.

So my next logical step was to the beautiful. It just so happened I was finishing my research and asked Phishy when the next clams were due in last week (yes, I'm lucky enough to be local to PhishyBusiness). Guess I had good timing I got this beauty today. It was even already mounted on a rock, so I don't have to face that hurdle.

This is the first ever top down photo I've taken (talk about stressful hanging the camera over the open lid), but man the colors are DEAD ON.

It's about 2.5-3". I'm pretty sure it's a Maxima, and it's aquacultured (ORA maybe?), so hopefully my chances for success are pretty high.

very nice, which tank is he in? and yes he's a maxima, you'd figure they'd tell you at the store.

nice work on the top down shot. i always end up with to much glare, i'm gonna have to make an acrylic box so i can get the lens underwater.

It's in my 180. Yes, they did say it was a Maxia. Luckily it more towards the glass instead of in the middle, or else I would have probably had the glare problem too.
