Received some clams from Barry at CLAMS DIRECT this morning and will acclimate for about a week or so.

I thought I post the Crocea, super colors and neat combo blue, green, and orange will be anxious to see how he does under 20k's. Shoot over an update later this year. (time to upgrade camera!)

(BTW--great selection and service from Barry-nice web page):)

wow that's the same clam? what a difference that angle makes, I know I've seen mine go from purple to greenish/blue but that second shot is just an amazing difference.. I rather like the second shot more so than the first

Two clams--both look super --

...The derasa (2nd pic) hs already grabbbed his comfy spot on the substrate (by his self)...the crocea (1st pic) will eventually moved up higher in the rocks. (by me)

Both look great...curious to see how they respond under 20k 400w mh..

Best regards,
mike
(sorry for the confusion)

Nice pics Mike! I too have a 40g tank (breeder) and have a 250 watt 6.5K Iwasaki SE bulb plus 2X39 watt T5 HO's... for more info click the red house thingie for my website.

I am going to guess your clams will do just fine with a 400 watt 20k in that tank, I have a friend with the same set up (tank and light) and his acros sure look good (though he does not have any clams). I am a bit confused though.. do you not have the 400 on yet? and if not what are they under now?

And man.. I wish I could get some clams from Barry! They really do have some great clam selection, not to mention Barry is a very devoted and informed clam man ;)

400w on--cheap camera
