New clown...no quick symptoms.

Hey guys I picked up a clownfish for my other friend who has not had a partner for weeks...(he died during QT) and at first it got what seemed to be gill deterioration or around that area so I exchanged him for the only healthy looking clown in the tank. Now he still looks healthy it's just he hangs out near the bottom swimming slow opening his mouth and closing it very slowwww...not accepting much food. What are the possibilities?

if you can qt it, id start with a treatment of maracyn 2, double the doses. it treats bacterial infections, and has a medicine to stimilate eatting as well

And if I can't? I had to use the airline tubes for the air stones in my QT for drip acclimation and the water has been non filtered for days and is freezing because I took the heater out

well.... make ten gallons of new saltwater.. wait at least 24 hrs.. do a water change on your cube, and use the ten gallons you took out of your cube to fill the qt

He seems to be doing better...probably just worried because of what happened to another clown...and the fact he's brand new
