hi guys, new to the fourms here i was wondering i got a clown today from blue zoo aquatics well i got two but one came dead so he is lonely, but my question is my clown is always in the same spot in the tank and has been there since i put him in.. is this normal

Yep. My pair sleep together in the same corner and then make their rounds to the same spots each day with lots o' wigglin' in between :)

pic would help, is it on the bottom of the tank? and watch for heavy breathing 100 flaps or more of gills is bad.. you have it in quarantine right! you gave no info so it;s hard to help you

Is he eating?

Is he breathing heavy?

If shipping killed the other clown, this one is probably severely stressed. Make sure your water parameters are perfect.

What are you feeding him?

Is he in QT, or in your display tank with other fish?

he looks like hes breathing normaly .. and swims with the chromis sometimes and then comes back to his orginal place i also provided a pic of the whole tank and circled it to show where he is at all the time

he eats alot of pellets, flakes

very brightly colored

should i be worried :hmm3:

Sounds like he's fine.

Clowns often find a favorite spot and keep returning to it. Like they often do with anemones.

If he had been parked near the surface, and breathing heavy, that would have been a concern.

Consider a more varied diet, that includes some frozen preparations for omnivores. A good practice it to never feed the same thing twice in a row.

Your tank looks new... so no more additions for a little while.

Enjoy your tank as it matures, and take your time planning and populating it.

And while you're waiting to add more fish, it's a perfect time to set up a simple QT.

The extra cost will pay for itself. The very next fish you buy could have a disease that kills all your chromis and your clown in no time at all.

i agree, your tank looks very new. I don't see any live rock, algae ect. so I would agree to slow down on adding any other fish for a while.

BTW what part of Iowa you from? I am up in NW iowa north of Sioux city.
