New Clownfish Ich?

I purchased a pair of clownfish yesterday at a "big box" LFS. I brought them home and began acclimating them. I noticed one of the clowns bottom fin had looked like it had been nipped. I didn't really concern myself at the time with it and continued acclimation and put them into the tank.

As soon as I put them into the tank, my 6-line wrasse began going after them. I watched for 2-3 hours before the lights came on and he never seemed to make contact, but was putting up a show.

After the lights came on, I noticed the clownfish was a bit lighter and had very small spots on him. I immediately thought Ich, but I also read it could be Broklynosis. I fed them and at first they hid, but I did see each of them feed. The one seems to be a bit better today, but still has some spots. I haven't seen him scratch on the rocks.

I fed them yesterday, but will probably feed a small feeding today. I read that I should soak their food in garlic and vitamins.

Before I look into further treatments is it Brooklynosis, Ich or just transfer stress? The tank is a 45g reef. The only only other inhabitant besides coral and CUC is the wrasse.

Thanks in advance,

That looks like the beginnings of Brook, not ich. Ich looks like they have been sprinkled with salt. Brooklynella looks like their skin is sloughing off of them - much like a 3rd degree burn on a person. IF it is brook, the ONLY cure is Formalyn and it must be done IMMEDIATELY! In a hospital tank. NOTHING else will cure brook. You might want to pick some up ASAP, just in case. Follow the instruction exactly as on the label, including the use of an airstone because Formalyn depletes oxygen from the water.

FYI, unlike ich, fish cannot get over brooklynella. It is 100% fatal unless treated immediately - like within 24 hours or less of confirmed diagnosis.

And by the way, that Sixline will, more than likely, relentlessly terrorize any fish that you put in that tank. They should generally be last fish you add.

Thanks for the quick info. I will order Formalyn immediately. I had read about the treatment, and I have a tank and water made up, just no Formalyn.

The sixline seems to have calmed down, then again he's been well fed since the clowns moved in.

Edit: It may not look like it in the photo, but it does seem more like sprinkled salt then a slime coat or burn. I will stil order the Formalyn, but after reading that description, I could go either way.
