I purchased a pair of clownfish yesterday at a "big box" LFS. I brought them home and began acclimating them. I noticed one of the clowns bottom fin had looked like it had been nipped. I didn't really concern myself at the time with it and continued acclimation and put them into the tank.
As soon as I put them into the tank, my 6-line wrasse began going after them. I watched for 2-3 hours before the lights came on and he never seemed to make contact, but was putting up a show.
After the lights came on, I noticed the clownfish was a bit lighter and had very small spots on him. I immediately thought Ich, but I also read it could be Broklynosis. I fed them and at first they hid, but I did see each of them feed. The one seems to be a bit better today, but still has some spots. I haven't seen him scratch on the rocks.
I fed them yesterday, but will probably feed a small feeding today. I read that I should soak their food in garlic and vitamins.
Before I look into further treatments is it Brooklynosis, Ich or just transfer stress? The tank is a 45g reef. The only only other inhabitant besides coral and CUC is the wrasse.
Thanks in advance,
