New clowns in the tank

I am new to SW and added my first fish (2 clown) to the tank and for 2 days they stay in the front bottom corner of the tank. They seem fine and are eating just will not move from the same spot.

I added 2 clowns to my tank a few days ago. They, like yours, started swimming only in the bottom front of the tank. By the next morning they occupied a back corner. Now they go up and down the entire back wall, and are slowly adventuring away from it. Just give them time to get used to their new surroundings.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure there OK, now starting day 3 and still in the corner. But i just watch closely.

Just a little nervous as now I’m entering day 4 and both clowns are still in the front corner of the tank. Should I be concerned or just wait it out? Thought about trying to coaching them away from the corner but figure that will stress them more…… When should I get concerned???

do you have other fish in there with them? Are they eating?

They are the only fish in my tank. ( First ones added) One of them has moved out of the corner and seems to be having fun swimming in the current, while the other is still in the corner. I have been offering brine and mysis shrimp and they appear to try and eat it, but looks like peices are to big.

I am not sure of your flow, but you may try and slow the flow (turn off a powerhead) a bit and see if that helps. Also, see if the clowns move when lights go off? I dont have a huge flow in my 90 so there doesnt appear to be a "current" for the fish to swim in. They all pretty much swim around as if the water was still.

The clowns may not like the flow being strong. The fish must be tiny if a mysid is too big for them. Are you thawing them out before putting them in the tank?

Yes, i thaw it , but they sure seem large. the clowns are just over a inch long so pretty small. Should i consider a small pellet food?

Just noticed the one clown that has been staying in the corner has what looks like feces coming out but lloks odd sort of shredded up. Sorry hard to explain what is looks like. What happens when they spawn??

Do flake instead of pellet I would say. When they spawn, they pick a spot and lay them all there en masse. I dont know what the feces is, though it may just be that.
