New Conch

Hello

Last night i introduced a Conch to my tank. He was prob about an inch long. He spent about 5 hrs moving around the sand in the front of my tank and this is where i left him for the night. This morning he was nowhere to be found - he is nowhere on the sand in the front or back of the tank

My question is ...do they only stay on the sand or do they climp rock as well like snails do?
What other animals would go after a conch and is it possible he got eaten??

they bury themselves for days/weeks at a time. look for an eyeball or two peeking out of the sand at you.
