We have applied for our aquaculture licence. should be accepted any day now.

Looks good, Depp :D What benefits does the aquaculture license provide?

it lends credibilitiy to our operation. We arn't just some guys with a 2 bit setup selling frags over the internet. The aquaculture licence means we need to keep our setup to a standard as set by the government department of fisheries and are monitered on it.

also means you wont get fined. have you had any environmental impact statements done? also what kind are you applying for? all round kool setup!

Whats next on the drawing boards? Maybe a 1 acre warehouse/greenhouse with 50x1.2x.3 metre 18,000 litre tanks?

We have our aquaculture licence now.

What's next... keep growing and look to expanding our operations to service overseas. We are getting a couple of queries everyday from people in asia, europe and even middle east who want to know if we can ship to them. This seems the next logical step for us. Of course just becoming a sustainable business through these hard times is hard enough at the moment.

I do like your suggestion though amehel0!!! perhaps in the not to distant future.... maybe

It's great to know that you are located in Australia, it's rather depressing seeing all these online Frag stores that are all located in the USA out of my reach!
I'm from Melbourne and will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled on your website!

Yay for a coral farmer in Australia!! :)

Hi Alicia,

That was exactly our thoughts too, thus we thought we'd start our own.

Our frags are coming along quite well. We've had one learning experience where we had a spike in our alkalinity which has caused some of our frags and old brood stock to STN and bleach. We've now almost rectified the problem and wil be putting in a calcium reactor shortly.

we've also ordered some silicon mould material, so that we can start casting our frag plugs with better consistancy. our old batch of plugs were cast in sand which was not too bad but the tops of them are very hard to get smooth. With the new silicon mould we will be able to get a much better surface all over

Hey Ehudd,

We've been live and selling since March. Business is good and we are building our operation slowly but gaining a good customer base.

Masa is one of our australia forums that we post in to keep people updated locally. You'll find us in the business forums if your interested.

hi jai, great to hear that the acan's and acro's are doing well. the rainbow acan's are almost ready again.

Thanks aj. Things are growing slowly as we expand our operations further. It's coming into winter too so shipping corals is going to be fun
