Over a month after I received my TBS rock and I'm still finding stuff.
This little guy showed up today. I was fortunate enough to spot him in a lose rock so I pulled it and placed in the sump until I find out its intentions. It measures about half an inch. I saw one more critter sneak in one other hole in that same rock, not sure what it was.

Looks like a baby gorilla crab, before the 'hair' grows in. Are the tips of his claws black, or is it just shadows?

Oh and if you look up pictures and confirm it is a gorilla crab /get rid of it/.

You don't want it in your tank :P

Well, little bastards are in a rock in the sump but couldn't find them again. Any effective way to flush them out of the rock? Sink the rock in rodi maybe?

Someone suggested getting soda water, picking the rock up, and using that in a different thread... Or it might be for bristleworms.

The going suggestion is get a bottle of pop (two litre or 1 litre depending on size of crab).

Cut the 'neck' off the bottle, and cut it into a cone big enough for the grab to get through, and invert it. It'll essentially be a bottle with a funnel inside, like a lobster trap. Put it sideways in the sump with food inside. Crab crawls up the neck, and falls inside, then he can't get out again.

One out! Found ir wondering in the sump. I guess I lucked out and saw another even smaller one in a different piece of rock in the DT. This one is really tiny but hairy!! It has some orange spots on it and sharp claws but no black tips.
Another gorilla?? Pic below.

Placing the rock in a bucket of RODI will force anything out. Pretty sure you can leave crabs in your sump & be OK though.

The second crab pic appears to be a decorator crab. They're great cleaners, and can definitely be left in the system... put it in the sump if you don't want it the display.

Thank you!..yeah I looked up some pics in google and it does seem like an arrowhead. It is about 2mm long so it is going back to my tank and see if he makes it.
