new Crocea clam

I just got a new crocea clam and I wondered if they like it better on the bottom or in the rocks? He is currently on the bottom and extending his mantle and looking very nice. I have 4x54 wt T5 on my 55 gal.

Higher up the better, even better with halides. I got mine 6 inches below a 175W..

Will he be ok on the sand?? He has been down there for 3 days and he has really started to color up.
