new crocea placement

Got a question for you guys.

We just got a new crocea clam and know that they like being up in the rocks... The only thing, the only place that we could really put him in the rocks is on/near a bunch of zoanthids...

Can these corals sting the clam? Should he be placed in a clean area of rock?

Hmmm...

I got a post back on the clamsdirect forum saying that the zoanthids are fine, they won't sting the clam, but if they start growing on the shell they might cause problems with the clam opening and closing...

Yes I agree. I have seen clams with zoa's on them and the person had to manually remove them from time to time. It was melev's clam I beleve, but don't quote me.
