Hey all, I just picked up a 2.5" - 3" crocea clam yesterday. All day today it's mantle has not flatly sat or extended naturally out, its somewhat pointing more up, as if its trying to reach up towards the light. Sorry I cant explain this description any better. The clam wasn't like this in the store, and wasn't like this in my tank yesterday. Is this hyperextension? My readings are...
nitrite- 0
ammonia- 0
nitrate-close to 0
ph- 8.0
ca- 460
alk - 4.0 meq/L
KH- 11
salinity- 1025
temp- 79
It is currently in a 5 gallon display tank, which is connected to a 20 gallon sump (which is full of water), resulting in 25 total gallons. The tank is lit with 1 viper 70 watt metal halide. The clam is sitting in the rock now about 5-7 in. from the top of the tank, while the light is sitting 5-7 in. above the tank. What could be wrong with my set up or clam? Thank you for reading through and helping!
