Here is a pic of our new custom 90 gal RR frag tank. We can't wait to get it up and running. We are not leaving it in front of the window.

It will be in the center of our aquarium room. The stand is 360 with doors on both sides. It has a center overflow and two returns on either side. We have a hanging metal halide fixture that will go over it.

Thanks, Ortiz, My hubby designed what he wanted and it was built here locally by Ty Harris at Ocea. It has Starfire glass on all sides.

Monica,

That is a very beautiful tank. It's so nice when both are involved in the same hobby.

By the way, beautiful hardwood too!!!

Deb,

Thanks, the tank is 4ft long by 2ft wide by 16 inches deep. The tank was designed to be a center piece in our aquarium room. We wanted to be able to walk all the way arround it to move frags with plenty of room underneath for equipment. It is great when both are into the hobby however that can be double expensive. LOL.

That looks good Monica, I know both of you are excited about getting it up and running.

Couple of questions:

Is your center overflow in the center of the tank or over against one side? Looks like it could be in the center. When I was planning a big tank that was what I wanted. Then you could drop the electrical power from the ceiling, down the overflow through a "dry run", and power everything underneath without having to step over any cords.

It looks like you have a "post" between the cabinet doors. Is that going to allow you to get a big sump in the cabinet? Can you remove the post and if necessary "beef up" the header over the doors? Either that or cut a big door in one (or both) ends of the cabinet. If you're careful with the cut you could use the piece you cut out with some moulding and hinges to make the door.

Very sharp looking setup. A few years back before I did the inwall and the current fish room we had kicked around building a sun room. Wife wanted a place for her plants I was thinking hard about it cause I was thinking Cube in the middle of the room with a center overflow :). I think tanks with a 360 view are pretty neat since they are few and far in-between.

Harry does make a good point about the stand.. From the picture it looks that access might be a little tough. Now would be the time to try and modify the stand if you think you will need larger openings. The more access the better. Since you can get to both sides though, that will help a lot.

There is no Center post, It is attached to one of the doors. The stands are solid 3/4 inch plywood mortised, glued and pocket screwed. There is a door on each side of the cabinet so you can see through it when both are open. The overflow is dead center, drain only. The returns (2) are on each side. I liked the center overflow so I can place frags all the way around it. The power will come through the floor for everything except the lights, the powere from the lights will come down from the ceiling. I bought a double 150 Sunpod that has internal ballast. Hopefully there will be no cords between the light and the tank.

Monica, That is some real clear glass. I am going to tag along so I can get some ideas for my future (way future) frag tank.

Now you guys have got us thinking about one problem. Powerhead cords! Any suggestions?

How many drain holes you got?

I also made a Gurgle Buster overflow standpipe. I'm interested in seeing how it is going to work.
