This is just a comparison photo between my old tank and my new one lol. Its a big jump but hey :)

So yer il get some more photos up now when i get it in the wall.. Hopefully This Week :)

Just a quick question that i forgot to ask.

Ive Ordered 2x AquaRay AquaBeam 1000 HD Ultra Lighting Tile And a controller for them and was wondering if anyones got any feedback on these. Ive heared that they are good strong lights but as this is my first marine tank just wanna be sure these are sufficiant for what im trying to do.

That's a tall tank, but it will look very nice. Hope you have long arms! Where abouts in the world are you?

Yer ino that was somthing i noticed lol. Yer fingers crossed it will come out nice. Got a picture in my mind just hope it turns out the way i want it to.

Umm south west wales, UK yourself ?

Beautiful, and currently very chilly, northern New Jersey, North America.

It helps to know where you are so we know what brands of equipment might be available to you. I am not familiar with the light fixture you mentioned above.

Nice looking LEDs.

The depth is not necessarily a problem, but once in place, you want to know you can access all areas of the tank for maintenance and such. When doing your aquascape, cleaning a sand bed or just placing corals, you want o plan for your requirments to reach the bottom. You're top bracing does not look too restrictive and the light fixtures look like they will be easily managed so no big deal. I like the look of a tall tank myself.

I shouldnt have much of a problem accesing the tank. It will be a stretch but should be ok.
Yer i wasnt to sure with the hole lighting thing. I liked the thought of the LCDs because they didnt take up much room and all which suited me because of the access.

I think with the aquascape im guna build 2 islands running up the side of the tank to make the most of the tank?. maybe and have a Wide V of open clear space in the middle.

Can anyone advise a possible aquascape that would suit a tall tank like mine ?
Im having trouble coming to a decision on a look ?

Personally, I would go with a pillar type scape. Lots of open space between then and on the bottom. I think that along with a arch in there somewhere would be awesome!!!

just a quick question... how will you be able to clean the glass and reach for the corals below that tank? is there enough space above the tank for you to reach the livestock in the sand? thanks....

Hey ptan, Yer i should just be able to reach the bottom of the tank. I orginally allowed for more room on the top but i endde up having to make a few adjustmants to the wall etc and it ended up abit higher than planned!

Scuba, I would HIGHLY recommend that you increase the space above your tank (if possible... your carpenter will be able to tell you if you can).

With a tank that tall you are almost certainly going to have to use a long handle scraper (cleaning) AND pincher tongs (arranging).

With the current config I think you will just have enough room for the lighting. My guess is that you would have to remove the lighting for cleaning... I find it VERY hard to see what to clean when no light is illuminating inside the tank.

I had the space so I allocated 36" above the tank and am VERY glad I did. For working with tools I would shoot for 24" or so. I designed a shelf that holds my lighting, it tilts up for cleaning but I can still see inside the tank with the light on.

Great location and I really like the idea just some suggestions.
