New DIY Aqua scape for my 29g Biocube...(Bonsai Tree)

you should place some encrusting monti to grow on the trunk of the tree and have some different color sticks on top like tree branches its kind of a corny idea I`m throwing at you but it would be pretty cool looking

Don' worry there will be plenty of fuzzy sticks covering the tree.

How do you plan on keeping up with bioload with only that small amount of rock in the system?

BIO BALLS DUH!!! ...What kind of question is that!? No but really I haven't decided which route I'm taking yet. I'm thinking either large reactor with Matrix, biopellets, or a small amount of both. I'm also planning on an aggressive weekly water change schedule. I also had a buddy make me a media basket and plan on running it with a small refugium in the rear. May add a small skimmer if need be. Tank will be BB with 2 wp10s for lots of water movement. Im hoping to keep detritus and crap from settling. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on these ideas.

Why not use one of those ceramic plates from marine pure.

Yeah I thought about this as well. I think I can pull this off with the amount of rock I have with the right filtration in place. i think running the Matrix reactor should do the trick along side the fuge. We shall see.

What kind of rock did you use to make that?

Not sure of the exact "kind" or origin of all the pieces I used. My buddy does tank maintenance and has several hundred pounds of assorted rock he has accumulated over the years and i just picked a few pieces. I know some of it is pukani for sure.

Looks awesome Anthony. I picked up a new tank and have not decided on which substance to use for bonding the rock together and attaching it to the tank.
Why did you go with epoxy over cement? I have been weighing the pros and cons and want to know what you thought.
