ok I finally broke down and have rigged computer fans to cool the tank. I have 4 3 inch fans and 1 4 inch two are blowing in and three are pulling air out. I have a 400w MH and a PC setup. Do you think this will be enough fans??
then copy and paste the 3rd line under the picture into your message.
i run two ice cap fans on mine. i had better luck with mine blowing in the canopy .. only because over a period of time of pulling air out can ruin the fan. ( salt creep)
i run 4 x 175s with just the two fans. my tank stays a constant 80 degrees.
I have a computer fan and a power supply from a junked computer for my 5 gal. Eventually will run the wiring a little more clean than just the power supply sitting on top of my microwave and the wires laying all over the place! Do a "before and after" temp comparison.
lets try the pics again, right now they are in cardboard held on with duct tape, but if they work I will mount them in the doors and ,ake it a permanant solution. hey duct tape really does fix anything.
I have the same fans but mine are blowing in, cool air from the AC. Before I had two in my 55 one in and 1 out the the one blowing out didn't last long 5 months tops the one blowing in still working.
I just got my T5 retro kit and am going to mount it in my canopy I was wanting to mount computer fans also instead of 40 dollar IC fans all I need is a power supply ? I have a old computer that I don't use I can just gut the power supply from that and put like 4 fans on it ?
