SO I finally found a female mccoskers wrasse after looking for so long. she is super small im guessing under an inch. but to my luck none of my store have a male. I tried to hold off till I found a female but of course no I cant find the latter. the price was unbelievable also

im so happy right now already eating in my tank. im going to keep her in an acclimation box for a few days due to her size and hopefully in the next few days I can get a male.

add anything that you wish! thanks

Good luck! Those are one of my favorite species! :inlove:

We tried to order some for our school tank but LA was out by the time the accounting department decided to pull the trigger... :furious:

One of my favorites as well.

I don't know how you feel about internet shopping but DD has a terminal phase male right now.

Be quick.

That's a rare find! Females are always sparse

I would get a few more as in the wild they form harems(correct me if I'm wrong) The male will always flash for the females. It's an amazing light show!

They aren't rare around here, just need to ask to get them. Stores will stock males because they are more brilliantly colored than females, thus better for sales.

In the wild they do indeed form harems with a male and several females. The flashing is a great sight to see in most any wrasse, IMO.

Good luck finding a male! I had one awhile ago, and the blues seemed to be more evident than in most specens.

I've gotten healthy ones from bluezoo before. Don't worry about finding a male, just order a group of small ones. One will turn male.

BTW, hope your tank is well covered - I lost mine to jumping even though the only opening was tiny.
