New Finger Leather Looking Real Bad!

Ok so i got what the LFS called a Finger Leather Coral. It was Pink and ugly and had Very dumpy little "fingers". It looked fine in the bag from the LFS and ok last night...... This morning its totally limp and leaning over onto the rock and some of its dumpy little fingures have turned dark purple. It really doesnt look happy. I was told they are very hardy and good for adapting to lower light levels. Still just got my 2 x T5's. One 50/50 and 1 x actinic.

Any ideas. I also got a shroom yesterday (same LFS) and it looks great this morning. All water Parms are normal.

Would it be due to me handling it quite a bit. Was the first time trying to glue using epoxy on the rock it came on.

It may take a few days to adjust to your tank/lights. I know my leather hated my T5 lights at first. Where do you have it placed in the tank?

Its about half way up, prob 10in away from the lights.

I wouldn't panic too much yet. Had exactly the same problem last week. They do tend to have a tantrum if they're disturbed. But it will settle down - especially if your parameters are ok. Give it a couple of days. Mine is looking great at the mo - miracle considering its state last week

Just keep an eye on it. Leathers will occasionally close up and "shed" their outer layer; sometimes their polyps will remain closed and they'll look bad for a week or more. My toadstool looked quite bad for nearly a week after I added it. Between acclimation and it's "shedding" episode, it just needed a holiday. Now all is well.

Just watch it. It is probably going through an addjustment. DO you know what kind of lights it was under at the LFS and how long it was there? It could be due to handling it so much too,

give it a week. It will bounce back. Mine did that the first week I had them.......I am now into my 5th fragging season with it......

Cheers everyone, i keep an eye on it and report back, i did get a pic but its really blurry and cant see alot, i'll try and get another if if its still like it in a couple of days.

L-Babe, not sure how long it had been there, at least 7 days and i think it was MH, so it would be quite an adjustment.
