Taken with Canon Eos XT and Canon 100mm macro lens. Used custom white balance created by shooting a white paper taped to front of the tank. Most of these were taken at f/2.8 with shutter speed ranging from 1/160 to 1/640 depending on area of the tank. ISO 800.

A little argument :)

The fish are looking so cute due to your good Camera result and resolution..
I am also using the same brand.. But I haven't this same picture quality do I need for any Camera setting change or colors brightness change..?

Is the problem lighting or focus? Lighting issues are usually caused by the fact that a custom white balance needs to be set for aquarium lights (see recent thread on canon xt or any of the intro threads on aquarium photography on how to do this).

Focus is tougher to deal with when photographing fish. You need to set a fast enough shutter speed, place the camera parallel to the glass to avoid distortion, and catch the fish parallel to the glass if you want the whole fish in focus and if you're using a shallow depth of field (needed to get very detailed closeups). I have to take a lot of pics of fish to get a few good ones.

Great pics. Are u using flash? I was under the impression that flash isn't good for the fish? So far I've been setting my Razor at 100% to take pics. Been working at 2.8 with 105mm macro on 5D3. Oh yeah ISO around 4000

I'm not using flash, and the lights are low (only about 20% on an evergrow 32 inch plus a couple of 12 watt led supplements in the front of the tank). However, I've seen some great photos of fish taken with flash on here. My ISO is much lower, but I do have to catch the fish when they're not moving much to get this kind of clarity.

Forgot to mention -- the only reason the lights are so low is that I'm gradually acclimating my corals to the LEDs.

Very nice shots.
How do you achieve1/160- 1/640 with the lights only at 20% no flash and Iso only at 800??? Can't get close to that even at 2.8 was just thinking of trying out my 50 mm 1.4 for some faster shots. I haven't been able to get anywhere near the crisp shots you got of the flashers, gramma loretto and the firefish!!!

Hmmm. Didn't know it was unusual. Maybe I had the iso at 1600, but I don't think so because I learned that I get too much noise at that setting.
