Hi
I have a 40 (UK gallon 36" x 16" x 22") open top tank with 2 Pyjama cardinals that have been in there for 8 months, I am going on hols next week and on my return want to add some more fish, I was looking into buying 4/5 green/blue Chromis but was advised that they dont do well in captivity. Could you please advise me on a couple of fish that wont bother the cardinals, wont bother the peppermint shrimp and dont try to jump out of tank.

Thanks

Barry

chromis's will do fine but in a small tank like that I suggest only getting 2. if you get 4-5 they will most likely end up killing all and leaving you with 2 in the end.

Hi
I was always led to believe that clowns 'jumped'. I have a crushed coral substrate so is that suitable for blennies.

every fish can jump out. their really isn't a fish that you can say isn't a jumper, just fish that may be more likely to not jump.

most of the time if a fish jumps it is due to harassement from other tank mates or water quality.

agreed with Sam, any fish could hop right out of the tank. I didnt really like my chromis, I'd get something a bit more exciting. a pair of clowns could make a really good addition.
