New Fish

Yeah, +1 to what Shirley said. Species can be debated all day long, but at some point those corals are goners, unfortunately.
 
I'm betting(hoping anyways) that mine is a Koran as that is what I wanted....either way you have a beautiful fish and can't wait to see both of them (yours and mine) as they start changing....going into the adult stage, so you'll have to post pics for us as it begins to grow :)
 
It depends on the fishes growth rate. I would imagine females change faster than males, and it's also largely dependent on metabolism. Higher water temperature can increase the rate of change, as can increased feeding. I don't think it so much a time thing as it is a size thing. Four inches is suppose to be when they begin changing. We had customers report changes in as little as 2 month to as long as 6 if i remember correctly. It also depends, of course, on the age of the fish when it's bought from the LFS.

You should post the pic in the reef fishes or aggressive fish forum and see what others think it is, try and get a good side shot.
