New fish

I need to get some better food I have been trying Rods and he is just kind of pecking at it but not really eating.
I need to go to ss and get some of the food that they were feeding them.

They were feeding prawn eggs and Rod's but they are out of the prawn eggs until the shipment comes in on Friday. I was just there tonight and picked up one of the 4 Potter's wrasses they got in this week.

more potters angels that looked pretty cool..... but some how the one i liked was already taken by chelsey....very cool markings

I didn't pick up any potters angels...I had them put some flames on hold for me though...

Still havent heard from any one the they are attacking the food. I guess people are buying them despite. That is a bummer, if I could wait until a fish was eating right at the store, I may pick one up. Unfortunately too many people impulse buy fish that are not eating well yet, and the patient people never get a crack at them. But what are you going to do?

Mine ate very good at the store Micheal but when I got him home he seems kind of shy or that he just doesn't like the food. I think that if I can find food that it likes I should be fine because it tries to eat but spits it out.

The Potter's angels were still not eating well last night and many were still there. The wrasses were all eating which is why they were snatched up so quickly. If the angels start eating you can bet they will all disappear in a day or 2. If you are truly interested you should be in contact with the crew at SeaScape regularly.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the reminder, I was thinking of Metro.

As far as qt goes, I'm a major proponent of it but there are some species that just do not do well when quarantined. I take many factors into consideration before I make a decision to put a fish directly into the display and the ones I do a few and far between.

If I buy from an established aquarium I don't, otherwise I do. Too much money in fish to risk it. Learned the hard way. Lol

Leopards will not survive in a QT setup. It is best to put them in the display with ample copepods and then treat the display with prazipro.

So far so good on my Potter's Wrasse. It was out and about yesterday and was picking at food and now today it was really going after the mysis. It's still a little shy and quickly backs off if another fish is going after the same piece of food though.

here's a couple quick and dirty pics

Man I have bad news yesterday I didn't see my guy. Now today it is swimming around slow and breathing hard. Its tail has a large chunk out of it. I dont know if I had another wrasse picking on it. It could have also got into my carpet.

Hope things go well and he turns around for you. If you think it's aggression try putting a mirror against the side of the tank. The fish that's picking on him will be more interested in chasing away the "intruder" of the same species than picking on the new fish.

Beautiful wrasse!

Thanks, these and the Potter's angels are at the top of my list of favorite fish but I've never tried either before because on the rare occasions I've actually seen them in stores they generally looked poor and were never eating. I've gotta hand it to SeaScape on finding an excellent supplier and making the extra effort to get them acclimated and eating properly right away.
