new fish

I recently started a 38 gallon aquarium. I'm planning on eventually adding coral but not anytime soon. I was wondering if anyone had some good recomendations on reef safe fish that would do well in this type of tank. I'm hopefully planning on getting a fish in about a month and I'm trying to figure out what kind of fish I want. All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Some great, peaceful, reef-safe fish that are easy for beginners and interesting for that size aquarium would be:

ocellaris clown
royal gramma
firefish
yellow clown goby
yellow watchman goby
green chromis

If you've already got a pair of ocellaris clowns, you'll want to be sure to add only peaceful tankmates since the clowns can be territorial. I had a mated pair in my first tank and never had any problems whatsoever, but that's just my own experience.

i recently added a Royal Gramma and it is a huge hit in my tank with everyone who comes across it, very comical/personable and brightly colored which is an alright combination if you ask me!

I always advocate neon blue gobies - cute, tiny, peaceful, tank bred, very hardy, reef / invert safe, really no drawbacks as long as there are no fish that may eat them. Plus they are more active swimmers than the majority of gobies, and like to perch up high on the LR (mine would perch on my finger :) ).

Also royal grammas are great as well.
