New fish

Okie dokie. I want to get a new fish. Id like a fish that swims around (unlike a cardinal or firefish) and will do well in a 8month old 29gal reef tank w/ a 20gal sump/fuge. I have a yellow watchman, 2 percs and an unidentified reef safe starfish.

I was thinking about a black cap basslet. Anyone have one of these?

I had a sixline but they apparently burry themselves when they sleep and the starfish decided it was a midnight snack. :( So i dont want to get another one of those Any suggestions? I have plenty of filtration to support a decent bioload, and seeing as the tank is going to be Softie/LPS dominated i dont need to keep the water too pristine.

Any feedback is appreciated\

Are your clowns sexually differentiated and breeding? If so you will have difficulty introducing new fish. They are much more territorial after they start breeding.

Another thing that worries me is "unidentified reef safe starfish." The few stars we do know the diets of are almost solely carnivorous, and the rest... No one really knows.

How about a basslet or a dottyback. They are not constantly swimming in front of the glass but are pretty visible once they become acclimated.

my orchid dottyback is always the first fish you notice in my 25... hardy and a model citizen in this tank. I've had it three years now.

+1. They can pester shrimps, but they're good fish. Relatively peaceful, the bright colors that scream "MARINE FISH HERE," cheap, and small. ORA breeds them so you don't even have to worry about disease or adaptability.

Can you tell us about the star? If it's a green brittle star (ate a wrasse?!), then it's a fish predator.
