I'd like to share my experience of using my quarantine tank for my starry blenny, Salarias ramosus. As I said in my article that will some day be posted on the COMAS site, I consider quarantining part of the acclamation process.
The blenny was doing very well so I have to confess I didn't make it the full 6 weeks, but I made it 5 weeks. I had some snails in the q-tank that had passed the 2 month mark. I kept adding stuff so the release date kept getting farther and farther away. I quarantine everything. It is hard to wait.

About noon yesterday, I released my blenny into my darkened tank. I had fed the other fish just before I added his bag. The room the tank is in is bright enough so that I could see him exploring his new environment. The other fish weren't bothering him so around 5 in the evening I turned the lights back on for the afternoon food fest. The blenny joined everyone in eating and came right out front to do so. Today his is swimming around and nibbling on hair algae.

I am writing this for the newbies if there are any.... I know a lot of you don't use a quarantine tank but to see this very healthy, well nourished fish adapt so well to his new home is worth the extra time I took to see to his acclamation into captivity.
