I am starting a new 120g. I was originally planning on a full reef tank, but due a possible move and my funds as a college student i am thinking switching to a fowlr set-up. I was planning on using a mag drive 12 pump and a ASM G3 skimmer with a 40g breeder for a sump. My plan was to build a fug into the sump, is this still needed for a fowlr set-up. As for as fish i am unsure of my selection now. I was thinking about a zebra eel, anyone have suggestions for tank mates? Will the pump still be a good choice or would that be too much flow? Thanks for any and all comments and suggestions.

sounds good, thanks for the advice. the mag-drive 12 pump after i plum it shout spit out about 1000 ghr maybe a little more, is that to much flow for that set-up? I am thinking having a zebra eel, fox face and maybe a puffer or 2 but nothing fancy. let me know what you guys think about that.

for right now i was thinking about a couple of koralia #4s and upgrade later. i only have one corner overflow in my tank so i was thinking with the mag 12 return and the koralia's on the other end (depending on the flow) that would be a good start. any thoughts?

I have a corner overflow, too (left side) and my return pump is an Iwaki MD20RX (external). Two to three Koralia 4s should be more than enough, I have two Koralia 3s, one near the over flow, the other in the middle of the tank. I probably could use one more, but am satisfied for now. Also, mine are on timers along w/ my lights, I recommend it unless you plan on leaving them on 24/7.
