New Frag Plugs

To start off my parents own a ceramic company. So I got the bright idea to make my own frag plugs. Well that started a couple months ago and I made the regular frag plugs and frag disk. Well the other day I got an idea. I have a couple rocks that have holes on the side of them. Well keeping frag plugs in the whole is a pain because the coral does not get light. So I made these to fix it. They have a regular stem like a normal frag plug just on its side. I am also trying to make a frag rack that looks like a rock. My first attempt blew up in the kiln into little pieces. Have to work on that.

Not sure how long it will take for them to change colors but I know I have never had a problem with the frag plugs growing "bad" algae. We will see.

I want to make some others. I tried a couple other things but like I said I blew them up in my mom's kiln and there was little pieces of ceramic all over the bottom of the kiln. I am going to try and make some small rocks that will hold a frag plug or two and see if they work.

love it.. was thinking of doing something similar. Why no one makes a more thinner, flatter, are to grow frags on is beyond me. Keep it up, love to see where this goes.

Thanks, So far I love them. You can see in the second pic, the right side is where it slides into the hole int he rock and how dark it is right there. I could not use this hole before last night.
