new Frag tank cycling ?

I am setting up a small frag tank that will later bee a fuge for algae and pods and NOT attached to another tank.

If I just have water and a skimmer is there any cycling to do if I add at least some older tank water?

Now, If I add rock that has cycled, can I add stuff right away?

if everything going in is old (as in from another tank) no cycling needs to be done. Glass will not produce a cycle.

You can set up immediately.

If you are adding anthing new, such as sand, you may get a cycle.
