well i have a 225 tank (72x24x30) it was outside while i got the house ready for it and a snowblower kicker up a rock and cracked the back pane. i can get a new pane or $200 or i can buy a new tank for $500. i know i need to take the entire tank apart and reseal it to replace the pane.

You could replace the panel you know you will have to take the tank apart for all the trouble if it was me i would just buy a new one maybe even a bigger one...

I would just go with the new tank, a $300 difference really isn't that much, especially compared to the time involved in replacing that pane.

You could replace the glass, just take your time. When I replaced the bottom glass on my 240 it took about a week.It has been holding water for a year now.Just make sure to get all silicone residue off. Good luck

You could get a new one and try and sell the other one for a minimal amount on here (or another site). That way you could save some more money.

I resealed my old 100 in 1994, the hard part was getting all the old silicone off the glass.
A box of straight razor blades worked the best. if you are going for the external overflow get the edges polished

im leaning twards the new tank mainly bc of the time.ive been waiting 6 months to get this project rolling and im getting antsy. though a cost to cost external overflow would be sweet
