I might wanna do a like mostly all inverterbrets i know spelling sucks sorry guys and maybe a clown or 2 thats about it. and fill with LR and LS

any suggestions to where to start or where to buy

I currently go to living sea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvweFnWbLTYaquarium :)

you should check out Coral Reef pet center, its not that far from Living Sea. CR is located near Harlem and Lawrence... its about 5 blocks off of that intersection, towards the park. Their prices are very good, and they have a nice selection. Its a good place to start off with corals and stuff. :)

Have to agree with MMreefer. In that area Coral Reef is the LFS to frequent. I bought a 12 gal nano cube from them a couple years ago and they have always been helpful and affordable IMO. Ocean Design on Narragnsat and Irving park is good to. Thats where i usually go, a bit closer to me than CR.

For what its worth I have had great luck with the 12 gal nanocube. I imagine the Biocube or AquaPod are comparable if not nicer.

Mostly inverts is the way to go as most small (Nano) tanks can only support a couple-few very small fish. I have a Pearly Jawfish and a Firefish in my 12. Gobbies, blennies, and small clowns are good fish to look at for a small starter tank. Nanoreef.com is an excellent resource for seting up a small tank also.

yeah i really want to start a nano cube no one has one for sale :( they go for around 140-150 i was looking for something a lil cheaper just because if i do a bigger tank im ognna have to pay alot for lighting etc.

if anyone has a nano cube for sale 12gl to 24 or so ill go out and pick it up.

Im also a computer geek so i might be able to fix your computer or offer repairs for free!

If you become a member of CMAS, you'll get a 10% discount at those stores. Highly recommend staying away from Living Sea's prices, by shopping at Coral Reef (cheapest) & Ocean Design (cheaper).

cubes are nice, but IMO, AGA standard tanks are way more flexible - depending on stocking plans, cubes may require mods for lighting, fuges, etc. whereas an AGA with a HOB AC fuge and MH or PC lighting is pretty much "plug and play"

If you do pursue the cube route, check out nanocustoms.com and nanotuners.com

I have a 12gal Nanocube DX that I modded. I took out the stock lights and added a 70w metal halide. It has a 14k that's got about 5 months of use, and a 10k that is new. I did a mod to add a refugium in middle back chamber, and it would include the hang-on light and fan for that.

I have a hydor-flo and a surface skimmer, as well as the crappy fission protein skimmer.

Take it all for $125.

If you want bigger I have a 25gal Acrylic flatback hex tank that has a false wall and a built in protein skimmer.

$100, no lighting or pumps.

I saw a couple on sale at Tropicquatics in Lombard. You could call and ask them. I think they have CMAS discount, too, or else you can get an annual membership for their frequent buyers club for discounts on everything you buy for a year.
