While there are many ways to run a saltwater system, many feel that live rock is a critical component of it. I also recommend getting a book or 2- you'd be suprised what the library has sometimes. Mike Paletta's books is a good one for some of the basics, and is reasonably new. The FAQs are also good reading. Last suggestion is to see as many tanks as you can. It goes a long way.

Welcome Pug,
There are many diffrent tank companies. It all depends on how much $$$ you want to dish out for a aesthetically appealing tank. AGA makes pre-drilled tanks, or Oceanic there sister company that is more high end. Eddie's Aquarium carries a "wave tank" also that is pretty sweet looking, not sure of maker and afraid to know price.
Or if you really want to dump out the cash you could go custom built

GL on the hunt for the right system. As others have said do your research first, and save in the long run. You wont be disappointed going with a overflow setup like you mentioned.

I am working on my new tank w/ overflow & sump all this week and this coming weekend. I bought all my plumbing supplies yesterday, now I'm ready to start piecing it together.
