Hey everyone! This is my first post on this site. I switched over to Reef Central because I wasn't thrilled with the help I was getting with The Reef Tank forums.
Anyways, let me tell you about my setup. I have a 28 gallon nano cube reef tank (my first saltwater tank) that I've had for a little over 2 years. I've always bought pruified water from the grocery store to use as top offs for evaporation but back in September I got my first RODI system from spectrapure. I don't use it a whole lot since I have a smaller tank. I've always had a small cyano problem. It went away once I started using my RODI water but around the same time this brown, fuzzy, diatom-like algae appeared. Coincidence? Not sure. Some of my corals aren't looking too hot and my nitrates are a higher than the norm. The rodi system came with a tds meter. My tap water is around 194 ppm, after the Ro its around 7ppm and the purified water is 0ppm. I'm stumped. Any help for the new guy would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
