Wow, very impressed. You have great colors in your tanks. Makes me miss my 75g, its very difficult placing corals in a 16g. My hand smacks everything..:headwally:

How long have they been running?

Been a little over 5 months now with the tank, kinda not happy with it due to certain corals not happy, also my ora midnight clown has ick atm hes been in the tank for about 2 months. Dont understand why these problems are happening since I do weekly water changes and my tests show 0 nitrate 0 phosphate 475 calc 7 kbh 1.026 salinity. As of now I suppose I would say its a rough ride other than the tank having no algae issues other then the brown one that will only grow on the glass. In the end I think its because the tank hasn't hit its mature stage. Lost 2 corals so far 1 from red bugs 2 from putting in direct flow.. Built this tank for my boy and wanted things to be perfect, in the end you will always come across a problem or 2. I will say in the end I miss my 75g, I think my clown has gotten ick due to not enough swimming space and everytime I stick my hand in this tank I bump something. Two corals are new additions about 2 weeks ago

Don't get too discouraged. Just keep plugging away and addressing whatever comes your way. In the end you will get it all ironed out and it will give you an ever greater sense of accomplishment. That's the real lesson you will be able to tell your boy about someday!

did you QT the clown or perform TTM?

I'm sure there is enough swimming space in the tank for one clown, even though stress can cause ich to thrive I can guarantee you the fish had it before it went in the tank, it was just healthy enough to keep it at bay.

I'd get him out asap and start TTM immediately then leave your tank fishless for 72 days

Thanks, that is definitely a good way to look at it

Unfortunately I do not have a qt and am not sure what ttm is. The clown seems like he is doing better, his spot by his mouth has gone away and now he has only a couple on his tail. So thats good news

Unfortunately that is just the cycle of ich. It will attach to a host, feed, drop off, multiply massively, then reattach to a host in more massive numbers than before. This cycle will continue to repeat it's self until (1) you treat the tank- (not an option in a tank with corals and inverts) or (2) there is no more host for it to feed on. Like tjm9331 said it would be in your best interest to get the fish out of the tank immediately and keep them out for atl east 72 days. By having no host for the 72 days you effectively break the cycle and the ich should starve with no host.

Tank is almost 8 months old now so I figured I should update the thread, I realized I was blasting some corals with the 360 and have turned it down quite a bit. Some of the older pics with the acros didn't make it due to the bleaching. I do believe the tank is on the right track now, jerry the clown also fought the ick off which is awesome. Ill try to post some pics later next month of growth I've gotten, but for now I'll post a front tank shot.
