New home. Would this work?

I have been searching everywhere for an acrylic tank for my 5" peacock. A local reefer has offered me a 24Lx18Wx8H. I'm thinking after adding a couple inches of sand the 8H is not going to work. He's currently housed in a 18Lx12Wx18H glass tank. (He has struck the glass occasionally when I walk into the room but for the most part it's just for attention.)

Would 8H work? Any thoughts on this? Thanks for any responses.

thats not very tall at all and there is a possibilty he could jump outa that. if it was me i would go taller then that. wait for more people to chime in on that one.

I agree with Guygettnby, my 4" peacock spends enough time investigating the upper area of his standard 30 gal acrylic I would be worried about it. I've read stories about peacocks being jumpers also.
