Just got these in yesterday! They look so cool pics to follow. Cant beleive they broadcast such a wide spectrum trying them on my frag system, not brave enough to try on display yet. Who knows?

Moving on..Just got theses new LED fixtures. I've been wanting to give leds a shot for a while now and finally decided to try them over my frag tank. I wasn't thrilled with the t-5's so I figured why not. Read reviews in the latest magazine and some online reading brought me to these lights

I must say my initial thoughts are well dam what a broad spectrum for a spotlight fixture. The shimmer is awesome more intense than halide shimmer not overall light output of coarse.

A few of some coral I think the colors are much more vivid than the previous t-5's running over this tank.

For starters, Hello.

Also, on a side note, You have a Magnificent Frag Tank System!I have been curious here lately about replacing my 249w Metal Halides with 2 or 3 of the Kessil LED's.How Blue do they look?Like a 14k, or or in the middle towards 20k?

TY. I have the sky blue which is supposed to be like 10k. I believe more in the 15 to 20 range. I might add the actinic later don't know still experimenting. Sure will save money if you could!

Saving money and turning down the heat is my main reason.Plus I like the colors that the LED brings out of corals. It almost makes them look somewhat neon maybe.

No bad effects so far, polyp extension is better and the zoas seem to be responding the best. I dont keep much sps in my frag sysem, so I cant comment on much. I have a german blue polyp monti and an ora pearlberry frag and they seem to be doing fine no brown out, or eroding flesh. As I stated before the shimmer is so natural looking, I havent seen many other leds in action yet other than pics. I would think onereefs leds are nice as well, he doesn't skimp on aquaria products. Cant wait to see what kind of growth I get. I have a light bar with motor I might rig up over the tank not sure yet.
