New kid on the block

Just wanted to announce my arrival. I had registered a while ago but hadn't really posted anything and didn't realize this board was here for Tucson residents.

I have a 75 gallon reef ready AGA, running into an eshopps sump with a aquac ev120 skimmer, I'm fairly new to the hobby about a year now, started with a 29 gallon and this is my new setup that has been running about two months now with great success. So far tank inhabitants are three damsels (juveniles, but I'm plotting how I can get rid of them already), false perc clown, cherub angel, blue tang, clam of some sort, green open brain, some red aussie brain that I'm nursing back to health for a friend with a nitrate problem, xenia (growing like a weed) some zoas, some mushrooms that came with the xenia.

Since I've had this tank running consistently with high water quality I've been making the trip to SWSW every weekend with my wife and spending more money than I care to discuss so I'm looking forward to getting involved with the local saltwater community... unfortunately I don't have much to share at a frag meeting yet, not to mention I think the tang I just got from SW SW has ich... the cleaner shrimp are keeping it in check..... nobody else is showing signs after two weeks in the tank....

Anyways, if anyone is still reading, that will be $9.95 (7.95 Canadian) because I'm going to have this book published. :)

Welcome!, and the tank looks awesome. Having items to frag off and sell or trade is not a requirement to attend the swaps. Just come and meet some fellow reefers and enjoy. WELCOME

start feeding some Nori soaked in Vitamins and Garlic!! That yellow tang will kick it in no time. Ich is just an external parasite which only has a lifespan of about 4 days. In which case they fall off the fish due to its immune system or more will reproduce. But with a VARIETY of good feeding soaked in selcon, Vitamins, and garlic everyday, a few times a day, he should be good. Plus, any tang that I just got, has always shown signs of ich. Couple of dots

Looking great! I would definitely say to get rid of them damsels, and get that clown a mate! We are scheduled to have another frag meet in May (gonna be toward the end), you better come! I plan on having tons of stuff to sell/auction. Perfect time to get some awesome corals for an awesome price. My purple deaths have outgrown my frag disc, and are actually growing out from UNDER the eggcrate!... Those and maybe some PPE's will be the highlights of what I'll have available. Sorry to hear about the ich :(
