Thanks Mike for all your help and advise!

Just got my lumenbrights in the other day and can't wait to install them. Mike was great to deal with. Not only did he answer any and every question I had but he also made recommendations for my set up. Thanks Mike and to everyone on this thread who helped with my decision, this place is great!

I really like the look of them, right now they reflectors are a bit higher (at 18" water to bottom of bulb and only for 5 hrs run time) but that's due to getting the corals use to the new light. The coloration is a lot better and that's without running the VHO's.
I ran a test with a M59 ballast and the look was duller than with the Vue ballast.

Joe, stop by anytime, 12K Reeflux.

Rickyb - are those large LB's?? I have mine 18" off the water too and was thinking of moving it down because my heater is now running constantly :)

Hey guys,
I have a 72 gal bowfront running 2x250watt mh with spyder reflectors. The tank is 23" tall with 19" to the sand bed from the top of the tank. I have the 250's suspended in a canopy 15" of the top of the tank because i have read a lot on various sites that 250's might burn corals in a shallow tank like mine if not suspended so high. My questions are, do you think i will get enough par to keep most all lps and mabey some sps up towards the top of the tank? Also do i have enough light now with the spyders or would the luminbrights or luminarcs be a good investiment? I am running 10k ushios but it about time for a bulb change and i am going with the 12k reeflux bulbs. I have aro electroniv ballasts.

Deuce and RickyB,

Your tanks both look great. Glad to see some positive results from the LumenBright setups. My tank is going on 5 months and is doing well. Starting to get some good growth and the color is really poppin'. I will post some pics this weekend. Nice work guys...

Jim

Yeah Jeremy, You know, just trying to get better aquainted with my fish.

Holidays, new job, got engaged and some new toys have kept me pretty busy.

How's the Dussimeier?

I put a pair of these on my tank just before X-mas, replacing a couple of standard spider reflectors. Absolutely the best thing I ever added, the increase in growth in the last month alone is visually obvious.

I have mine such that the bulbs are about 8.5" off the water, making the bottom of the reflector about 4.5" off the water. There is a little section in the middle of the tank now that probably isn't getting as much light as before but the rest of the tank is getting much more.

You'll definitely have to hang them higher then anything you might currently be using.

I highly recommend these reflectors!!

It would be a good idea to go back 10-15 pages and read the thoughts on the recommended height. Most of us are at 14"-16" bulb to the surface of the water.

I highly recommend these reflectors too...;)

I got an email from Mike @ Reef Specialty that my pendants might ship tomorrow. I'll have to borrow a cam to show them off.

You should and take pictures before and after.

Thanks Jim.

One of my Milli's that look brownish/green is starting to turn to a nice peach color.

Well right now the tank is sitting with two 55w PC's over it just sustaining the life of my acan's and blasto's that survived the move from southern cali to texas so there really isn't a before and after. I gave away my MH's to a buddy getting into the hobby when I moved.

Dussimeier is doing great. Still shy with new people though. How are the frags you got from me doing?

My tank is doing awsome with the LB on it. Corals that were dull or brown are now growing fast and showing some great colors.

Duece your tank looks outstanding. What is the fish in the upper right corner in the pic?
