I'm waiting for the pendants...hopefully only a couple more weeks. I sent hello an email for ETA...I saw that acroporanut was supposed to have them also but I'm not sure which etailer he runs. Can somebody shed some light on that for me? When I see a dual ballast that says 110 vac, that will work for the 12k SE reflux?

I don't think the pendents are available yet. You could call or email Mike at Reef Specialty about the lighting.

Somebody posted earlier that they would be available in 3 weeks. Hopefully true because thats what I want.

When I talked to Reef Specialty and Hellolights the pendants were coming soon. I'm looking to buy two DE pendants.

I have a quick question. I have 2 of the 12k bulbs - 400w on Icecaps with Lumenbright reflectors. I measured the par on both bulbs about 14 inches above the water. On one bulb I get PAR readings directly below the bulb, one inch above the water of 1500+ directly under it and about 1400+ in about a 6 inch circle under the bulb. In the other bulb, I get a max reading of about 1400+ about the size of a golf ball slightly to the right of middle and around 1200+ in a 6 inch circle. Both bulbs are oriented nipple up. The lower par bulb in looser in the socket to get it oriented this way. Should I be seeing such a difference? It looks like the lower par bulb is slightly less blue and I can see a bit of a difference visually between the bulbs which promted me to test the par (apogee meter). Both bulbs have been running for 5 days, 6 hours a day.

Thanks
Ray

anyone have these reflectors over acrylic? How high do you have them? Just wondering how high I need to place these so that it does not produce excessive heat to cause stress or crazing on the top with the light be more concentrated and all. The reflectors are slightly larger than my openings (by 1-2").

your tank sounds like mine. I have acrylic and the bulbs are 12" from the surface.....I think. I'll have to look back and see for sure, but I'm almost 100% sure of that. I havnt noticed any issues as of yet and i've been running them for a few months now.

we ordered two lumenbrights and should have them by the weekend. they are going to be fitted with two 400w 20k radiums on a 4ft by 3ft by 2ft tank. Should have them going by next week sometime i'll post pictures.

Nice tank dimensions, can't wait to see the tank with the new lights. Do you have any current pictures?

we are currently finishing up the canopy. planning on hanging the reflectors with the bulbs about 16 inches off the tank. there is only one 400w 20k radium running on the tank right now. getting some pretty good coverage with a run of the mill reflector. here are some more angles on the tank

finished Lumenbrite

finished Lumenbrite

I think I remember someone wanting to know when the finished black shell Lumenbrites were coming out. I was looking around reefspecialty.com and had noticed he is carrying the Lumenbrite reflectors with the finished outside. They look pretty nice. I believe they are available in double ended also. I got my reflectors from him and got great service.

Ok, stupid question for you guys. I just bought the lumen brights and the 12k reeflux bulbs. What are you guys meaning by nipple up on the halide bulbs? I just want to make sure I am getting the best par possible so I want to make sure I am putting them in the way you guys are describing.

When you look at the inside of the bulb you will notice an area were the glass comes out of the interior portion, that should face up, the smooth portion should face down.

I'm running Refflux 12K and they need replacing.

Where can I purchase the LuminBrites and Bulbs only?

I have the mogul sockets and ballasts already. Since I need new bulbs, I thought, why not go ahead and get the reflectors also.

TIA
