new macro shots, Ive been practing

Astrograzer and Gregr,

I like the way you took this post. Us newb's can get alot more from yous experts if you constructively critique the photos and give helpful tips rather than the "Nice shots" comments. Of course it not my thread and Chiclet might just want ego stroking. I don't mean to speak for him.

ok i sorta gotcha, yea ive beem searching and taking pics, kinda difficult to find a pic that you really like, or a great photo subject

That's the beauty of digital, anything and everything can be a subject and it doesn't cost you anything but time.

woot, nice pix guys. question. has ne1 tried the canon es 100mm macro lens? do you like it. also for all you experience photo taking experts, what macro lens would you suggest for a newbie photographer. i have a canon xti rebel.

I'm a Nikon guy myself, if Doug, aka Beerguy peeks in here he could give you good hands on info, as I'm sure a few others may. I've heard good things about the Cannon 100mm Macro, but I haven't actually shot it.

The Canon 100mm macro lens is one of the sharpest lenses that Canon makes and is a must have for all around macro shooting. If you can afford it, I would start with that lens for macro purposes.
