new Maroon Clownfish pair...

here are some pictures of the new maroon clownfish pair i got yesterday... they are a little more expensive compared to fishes sold individually, but i think they are worth it... especially since i have a tendency to get attached to my fishes... so when it comes to fishes, i'd rather pay a little more to get exactly what i want rather than worrying too much about price... this is my second pair of clownfishes... i also have a pair of perculas...

having a squabble... one thing i've noticed is that when the pair has a squabble like this, the male always try to go to the female's side and "kiss" her cheek... also, the male's shivers are much quicker than the percula's... with the maroon clownfish, the shiver looks like an actual shiver, where as the percula's shivers are more of a ticking intervals...

Nice fish.

I have a female yellow stripe maroon clown and I'm about ready to add a very small maroon.

I also have pair of Clarkii's, pair of Ocellaris ,pair of percs and now i c these picasso clowns that i want a pair of.

individual 10 g, heater, power filter, clay pot, clay tile. I'll b adding LED night lights soon. Nothing else. Someteims i put macros in there for some pods. EZ to clean and keep clean. I even like the power filters for simple cleaning and removing when feeding and cheap. My Clarkii's r in my 125.

Nice thing about clowns is they need such a small area to wonder.

Wow, that's a gorgeous pair! My pair of GSMs are misbars, not as flashy as yours, but of course I love them best ;)

Fantastic pictures BTW, they really are outstanding shots! :)

I had a maron clown and tried to add another to find out that they didnt like one another do you have to buy them as pairs? mine eat a hole in the bag before i got the new one out. I ended up taking the more agressive one back as for the led lights instead of spending way to much on the ones they sell i bought rope lights like for christmas for like $4 work great on my 125

you do not have to buy them in pairs, but maroons are one of the harder species of clownfishes to pair up and you have to be careful or else the big fish will kill the smaller one... that's why i thought they are worth the price i paid for them even though they're a little more expensive as a pair...

Well, looks like somebody is a fellow photographer! :) great shots and color. How did you get them to pose for you like that? My fish just wont work with me....:) I hope they lay some eggs for you, its fun to watch.

hey, i wish i can tell them to pose... hehe... usually, when i'm photographing fishes, including clownfishes who are usually easier to photograph compared to most other fishes, i usually only get 10% keepers... for that photoshoot above, i made 45 exposures and only got 5 keepers...

Those fish look awesome!!!

I'm sorry to hijack but now I want a GSM... Can you mix a regular maroon with a GSM?

i'm pretty sure you can... maroon and GSM are actually the same species... the GSM being more common off the coast of Sumatra... out of all the clownfishes, maroons have the most diversity in their stipes...

I don't think I can use that approach because my current maroon is quite small... and pretty wimpy (my ocellaris chased it away!)

I was planning on just getting a maroon around the same size or maybe slightly larger.

Thanks... I noticed they have the same species name that's why I was a little confused.
