Ok i was a buddys house and he had 4 razors on his tank. 2 160w 16k on the outsides and 2 120w 16k on the insides. so like this:

160w16k 120w16k 120w16k 160w16k

and he had the fixtures running back to front. so the lights running parallel to each other and i kinda liked it.

I bought one from him right there on the spot. he had a few extras, he owns a store. also got a 120w 16k fro 390$ no tax. great deal. anyway. i have it dialed in and set to the settings i like. Its on a 24x24x18H cube. how far from the surface should i have it? I hung it so i can do as high as i need. also i allow the light to hit 100% at 2pm and down to 85% and down from that. so its between 65% and 100% then back down for 6 hours. the rest is just ramping down more. ill be keeping sps acans and zoas. also clams. should i be able to keep anything with that light? oh and i have a huge red bubble tipped anemone in the tank. Jamming under that light.

I think he is refering to the fact with the recent holding of the biggest reef conference, most companies relase new and/or upgraded units........

Don't run it at 100%; it'll reduce the lifetime of the leds. Run at 60% maximum, and that should be enough for your tank.

oh ok. i have it at 10" above the water surface to get full coverage. becasue my tank is 24" wide. it says in the manual as an example and 60%? really i have sps and want clams in the sand bed. 18" h tank.

80% max. Higher than that will damage the leds over time. Not much, but it will happen.
If you had a kill-a-watt meter then measure the wattage.
A 24 x 24 x 18 cube only needs around 30 leds to be very well lit. 80% on the Razor will cover clams on the sandbed.

ok i actually did reduce the power to 80% today. so it only spends 80% for a short amount of time. goes from 1% to 50% to 65% to 80% to 50% to 1% over a 12 hour period. i made the whites the same power as the blues and it looks much more like a 14k phoniex
