new member with some questions on a new setup

hey bio-balls is taking it a little far.

actually I dont think I will ever switch to sand. Why i dont know i just dont like it. But my tank wants me to switch it keeps getting laughed at by those tanks with that newfangled sand invention go figure. lol

I have never had a nitrate problem except on my first tank when i ran a bio-wheel.

I tried to hold a meeting but i was alone drinking in my basement cause no one else showed(which after a year of meetings drinking alone led to other kinds of meetings).

thanks for all the advice and welcome guys. Pulled out all the crushed coral this morning, added 2 more bags of sand. 25 pounds of live rock should get here this afternoon. Now if the place I bought my new light fixture would have sent the skimmer I ordered all would be right in the world.

I am surprised on how hot these power compacts get. I thought they would be pretty cool.

You know... most public aquariums use crushed coral and bioballs. There just might be some magic in that elixir!
