New MH lighting for Reef Tank

I have a 250watt MH light with 2 65watt T5 acintic lights coming in a few days. THe tank wich is 20x20x30 deep has a pwer Compact PC light which has 1 40watt 10K and 1 40watt 6.4k light on the tank right now. There is about 60lbs of LR which comes up about half way in the tank with a Galaxy Coral, Frogspawn, and Candy Coral in there. My question is what is the best way to acclimate the corals without moving them? They are pretty much stuck in place with aqua putty and would be extremely difficult if not impossible to move. I have a top on the tank and I was thinking of using layers of screening over the top of the glass and every few days removing a layer until it is all gone. The light will sit about 6" above the glass. Do you experienced reefers think this will work or do you have something better that would work? Thanks in adavnce for your help.

Get some window screen, enough to cover the top of the tank in 5 or 6 layers.

When you switch lights, put all the screen layers over the top of the tank.

Every couple days take off one layer.

Also, don't run the lights for 10 hours the first day. Start out at say 4 hour and work your way up.

Good luck with your new lights!
