Thinking of buying the 144 gal for my new adventure of a fish only tank. Good Size?? How many large fish and what kind would any of you recomend. I would like input on all needed accesories: lights, rock, sand, etc.....

Anyone have any experience with this particular tank or any sites that I can go to. The Oceanic web site wasn't that good.?????

Funny you should post this, I was just looking at this and the 95 gallon AGA wave tank earlier today. The 144 gal looks like a great size at 57.5"x29"x29", they've also got a really nice stainless steel looking stand and canopy for it.

be careful w/ the Oceanic 144, When i ordered it for a client, i wasn't to happy with it. It's very ackward , bc the overflows are so far back in the tank, and the stainless steal scratches a lot more easier then u'd think. Also the tank weights a ton- the two i got were also defective...

as for the AGA wave, i love that tank, its awsome, just plays tricks on ur eyes if u get up class lol

Question about the color choices for this tank: black, cherry, stainless??? are they just dressings that can be changed later if one wanted to?? The overflows are far back and I would be concerned with this if it was a reef tank, my purpose is to have a Fish Only. Awkwardness?? I have a 45 degree corner wall which works well for this tank, a wedge would not work for me. What kind of sump set up did you create for your customer and what type of lights did they use. Thanks.

Below is what I read on one website about it. I think the best and easiest placement for the overflows would be at the back 2 corners. Closer to the middle would be impossible to reach with that depth. Can you describe where they are? I guess that means the "stainless" isn't really metal. What kind of defects are we talking about?

"Our new, revolutionary Half Circle 144 Gallon Aquarium was recently awarded "Best in Show" at the Global Pet Expo, the Pet industry's largest tradeshow. Aside from its spectacular optics, The Half Circle is designed to make maintenance hassle-free with easy access to the aquarium's operating systems."

Yeah, I keep thinking about it :D and the hubby likes it too which helps. It also fits perfectly in a good location. It's $900 for the tank, stand, and canopy, and the overflow - is that a good price? I might be able to get it for a little bit less, I have gotten to know the owner and will be getting other supplies there.

The overflows are centrally located at the back of the tank.

I bought it and am just sitting back and smiling at an empty tank.

Now the work will begin I will start a new thread with lots of pictures.

I am looking at a Pro Clear 300 with pre filter sump. Any input????

Lauracline did you say you got or culd get a 144 gal half circle with stand and canopy for $900 ? I'd do that in a hearbeat and I'm broke!!!
