Hey all,

Just wanted to show off my new pair of black clowns. Really like the pattern on the reduced white one.

Thanks for looking.

Very pretty fish, one looks just like my male did. With a varied healthy diet they should hopefully color up to full black in a couple months. Imo and ime

They are ORA fish i believe, most the ORA fish i have seen around look just like that. Do you know where the lfs got them?

I do not know, but I will ask for you when I go there next time. I'm pretty dumb sometimes... what does ORA mean? Is that a variation of false clowns?

Thanks for your help. I'll post as soon as I can find out their origin.

Yep, most of the black ocellaris clowns in the us are from them, if not from them some other breeder. As collecting wild ones are currently illegal. I got mine from a private breeder somewhat local to me who's clowns were f2. or second generation from wild...And nowadays thats pretty hard to find. Anyways, i still think they are really nice fish.

F2 is awesome... congrats on that. I agree, they are awesome fish and I'm glad I could pick up some that we liked. Thanks for the info and background.

this might be a stupid question but are they so expensive cause theyre tank raised or cause of the color?

the regular one at my LFS only caust 10.99

Thanks. I believe because they are a more unique fish at the moment, but I do not know what determines price.

Thanks.. $49.95 each I believe is what it was.

that is how much each of my black ozzies were as well!

pretty hard to find them and a lot of people find it hard to crack a hundred big ones on a pair of "ocellaris'"?!?!?!?!:eek1: :eek1: :eek1:

actually...i got three! one of the ozzies in the pair i got didnt make it...:( but the store i got them from had a 'spare'...so i went to pick him up! they look exactly like yours!

i would post a pic but they are quick little guys and i am a horrible phtographer!

yeah im new and still not used to spending so much money on my tnak and my LFS doesnt offer any garuntee on the saltwater fish so im sticking to the less expenseive

Thanks. Goodluck with your pair bergzy.

kkyyllee, I don't know of any local place that would guarantee SW fish. If you're new, I agree stick to the regular false percs and see how you like them. I love them, they are still one of the coolest fish out there. Just don't name him/her nemo.
