New Perfecto 36" deep tanks at WWC!

If you haven't already, you need to go check out the new perfecto tanks! I was there this weekend and they have a 72"Lx36" wide sitting in the showroom. It's awesome!

Seeing this tank has made me want to setup a 36"x36", so be on the lookout for a new build thread!!!

I will agree that the new Perfecto tanks are awesome, I cant wait to see the 300 set up at WWC they have some amazing corals and that tank is going to be AMAZING!!!

What makes "Perfecto" tanks so great?

Probably just their price, I'm guessing. They do acrylic and glass? I forget but they generally run cheaper than AGA but don't come as tricked out either. Don't mark my words, though, but I'm pretty sure thats the big difference.

I struggle enough getting to the bottom of my 23" deep tank sometimes...

For the price and availability, if someone is looking for a 36" deep tank and doesn't want to pay out the $%# for one, this is for them! As far as I know they are the only ones making 36" deep tanks, and they've also added the option to get starfire on them as well.

I was never a perfecto man, but after seeing the new tank in person, I wouldn't hesitate from buying one. I currently have an oceanic tech tank, and it's built just as good as it is. The only flaw with them that I can see is the location of the overflows... They are on the corners!

Why would this be considered a flaw?

I was always under the impression the corner overflows were more sought after? Does it have to do with plumbing it?

Isn"t a 36" deep tank gonna be a serious problem to light all the way down? Just seems like to me that the bottom 10" or so is going to be a major issue to get decent parr.

36" wide or tall? I would want width but not that tall. That would be good for seahorses though

cause then u can really only have a one sided tank. if u tried a 3 sided u could see all the plumbing and algae in the overflows.just doesnt look nice.

Another problem with these tanks is that if you use the ones that are made for this tank, there incredibly short, something like 24" - I love this tank and it shall soon be mine... muahahhaha, ok. Make your own stand or have one made!

That's true, you definitely need to make a stand or have one made. I can see why they only do 24" tall, otherwise you won't be able to get it through a normal doorway. Definitely need to build the stand in pieces and bolt together once it's in it's final resting place.

like mwladdicted stated it just is not eye appealing but there is a quick fix. go to lowes and pick up so 1/4" ply and paint to match the stand or stain to match and cut to cover the over flow then usr velcor to hold to the tank and when those damn wrasse's or other pains get in there you just pull off and then reinstall. other than that butter to plumb either way. btw how was the trip to cocoabeach? did you try out grills

Flaw is my personal opinion. I don't like losing that viewing space, but to each their own. An easier fix, and in my opinion better looking option, is to get some black vinyl from a sign shop and us it to cover the overflow. It's a lot thinner than the ply and comes with a sticky backing so you don't have to use anything else to apply it.
