yeah baby!!
love it...the fish that got me addicted to the hobby in 1985...
I will always have them in my tanks...currently have 2..not in same tank...

good luck...where did you get him?

ps..they are the best fish ever...had one for 8 years that loved to be pet...was a total puppy..

i got him from a friend who dabbles with wholesaler a bit. i had a 6in beautiful huma but i bought a tusk and really wanted to keep the tusk at the time and got rid of the trigger. i missed the huma so much when i found out he had a 1in (at the time) huma i had to get him. i am hoping growing up with the tusk maybe they wont fight when he gets bigger?! iam looking to jump into the 200gallon club in the spring so maybe i wont have any issues.

p.s. i never seen one so small before at any lfs.

when i first got him he was pretty thin but he has fatten up like crasy!! hes going to be a big boy!! grown about 1/2in in three months.

thanks! glad he is fattening up....but they are slow growers...wish you still had the bigger one...6-7 inches is just about as big a huma as I have had..

three fish that i regret getting rid of powder blue tang, picasso trigger and a stunning banana wrasse!! i wish i had all of them back!!:debi: the huma was so fat, awesome fish!! we live and learn in this hobby, but you know as well as i we cant keep every fish we like.lol!

sure we can...just get another tank...:D

plus 1 to best fish ever, i have had mine for almost two years. hes not the fastes growing fish ever, but he sure is a fat little guy.

Agree. Its the fish that got me into marine as well. Ive always had one. I always wanted a larger one, but seems stores only get the 2 inchers etc. Believe it or not we were walking around Petco here, and bam! a beautiful, fat 5 incher. Got him that day and he's been in my 75g by himself. Best fish ever!

Certainly one of my, if not my favorite fish. I'm writing this from Maui on vacation, yesterday did a tour on a glass bottom boat and saw a MONSTER Rectangle Huma, close to a foot long, didn't get a good pic unfortunatly, but saw him and several more.

excellent!

I lived on Kauai for a year in the late 80s and saw some huge ones...
Have never seen them that size in the trade...which is good...
grab some pics if you can...
enjoy the trip!

I love picasso triggers too. I got one about the same size you have if not a bit smaller (he was tiny), I had him for about 6 years and he was nearly 6" long by that time. Unfortunately I had to give him up when I got out of the hobby due to moving for work for awhile. Here I am another 6 years later finally getting back in and am working on setting up a 150 FOWLR - and yes, it will house another picasso.

My second favorite fish, I've had several over the years. I finally have a tank big enough to enjoy my all time favorite, clown trigger.

They are very aggressive as they mature (from what I've read anyway). I chose tankmates accordingly. Nine damsels, a gold striped maroon clown, comet and a rescued blue hippo tang.
